Established in 1931, the nonprofit Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the world's foremost authority in gemology. GIA's mission is to ensure the public trust in gems and jewelry by upholding the highest standards of integrity, academics, science, and professionalism through education, research, laboratory services, and instrument development.
Once
a diamond is GIA or EGL certified, it cant be treated, if it was - it
would have said so in the 'comment' section, it would say for example:
'lab created', or 'laser drilled', or 'color enhanced'- or any other
similar remark to indicate that the stone is not natural. That's the
whole point of buying a certified stone, especially GIA - the strictest
in the world. The best diamonds are diamonds that have been graded, preferably by The Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and all of our diamonds are certified, which means that you, as a buyer, are assured of their everlasting value and authenticity.
